2021 WV Assistant Principal of the Year/ National Outstanding Assistant Principal

The West Virginia Association for Elementary Middle School Principals (WVAEMSP) is proud to announce Ms. Stacey Sylvester of Skyview Elementary School as the 2021 West Virginia Assistant Principal of the Year and recognized as a National Outstanding Assistant Principal by the National Association of Elementary Principals (NAESP).

Ms. Sylvester was notified of the honor at a surprise assembly at Skyview Elementary on Friday March 10, 2021 Principal Jennifer Cox, the Skyview School staff and Monongalia Central Office Staff were in attendance in attendance.

The NAESP recognized Ms. Sylvester in a statement, “The National Association of Elementary School Principals is committed to preparing assistant principals to step into the principal role. We want to honor Ms. Sylvester for  doing a superb job in her role. This program promotes educational excellence for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade (Pre-K-8) schooling and calls attention to the fundamental importance of the assistant principal. NAESP will share their successes and best practices in a practical document for other principals to utilize.  We congratulate Ms. Sylvester for this great achievement.”
